Email Account Set-Up

You can use any email software on any platform to retrieve your emails. (PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone).
IMAP vs POP3
IMAP and POP3 are two different ways to retrieve your emails. We support both protocols, but recommend using IMAP.
IMAP (Internet Messaged Access Protocol):
Leave emails on the server. If you use multiple devices to check your emails, IMAP is the choice for you. It allows you to use different computers/devices to check your emails. Your emails will always be in sync and appear instantly in your webmail inbox, no matter what device you are using.
POP3 (Post Office Protocol):
Depending on the software you use to read your email, POP3 may act the same way as IMAP. POP3 was created when we used dial-up to connect to the Internet and disconnected after downloading our emails so we could read them offline. It is best to use IMAP over POP3.

To be able to send emails, you must configure the SMTP. For security reasons, we recommend that you use the SMTPA server address. Also, with SMTPA you can receive your email from outside the CTS network.

SMTPA
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtpa.puc.net
Outgoing mail server port: 2225
Authentication: Authentication is required (use the same as incoming mail)
Security (SSL): Uncheck the box or select No

For an older system, you can use the SMTP server to send your emails without authentication. SMTP will only work if you are on the CTS Internet. Only setup on local devices only, not recommended for mobile devices (e.g. cell phones, tablets, laptops, etc.)
